Set A Post In Concrete...

What You'll Need

  • pre-mix cement (approx. 2 bags per post)
  • wooden stakes (2 for each post)
  • 2x4 lumber supports (2 for each post)
  • level
  • tamp
  • wheelbarrow (or other means to mix cement)
  • shovel

What You Do

Dig a hole 1'4" x 1'4". Mix pre-mix cement and pour into the hole. Set the post and use a level to make certain it's plumb all the way around.

Screw or nail support lumber on two adjacent sides to hold the post in place until the concrete sets up. Allow 24 hours before removing the supports.

Backfill the hole with dirt and tamp all the way around.
