Pour Post Footers...

What You'll Need

  • pre-mix cement
  • post anchor (1 for each post)
  • wheelbarrow (or other means to mix cement)
  • shovel

What You Do

Post Footer

Dig out the footers (generally 16" x 16" x 18" deep). Mix and pour cement, filling the hole to grade level. Set post anchor. Trowel cement smooth. Allow 24-48 hours for the concrete to set up before installing post.

Post Footer with Cement Slab

When you have both footers and a cement slab, you'll be pouring them both at the same time. You just need to take note of exactly where the footers are located so you can accurately install the post anchors.
