Looking for a private nook where you can steal some peaceful and soothing alone time? The beauty of this design is that you can add it to just about any available space alongside the house.





Building The Patio...

  1. Establish layout and prep ground for concrete slab.

  2. Dig post footers.

  3. Install forms, noting where footers are so post anchors can be accurately placed.

  4. Place and tamp concrete.

  5. Install post anchors and rebar for block planter.

  6. Once concrete has cured, removed forms.

  7. Install 4x4 posts.

  8. Install 4x6 header.

  9. Install ledger with 3/8" lag bolts.

  10. Install 2x6 joist hangers and then install rafters.

  11. Install H2.5 clips to secure rafters to header.

  12. Install 4x8x16 cement block for planter. Fill cells with cement and install block caps.

  13. Establish layout for pond curb.

  14. Using a 3/8" concrete bit, drill 1" deep holes every 12 inches and at each corner (centered in the layout).

  15. Drive a piece of 3/8" x 5" rebar into each hole. Install 1 row of 4x6x16 cement blocks all the way around. Fill cells with cement and cap off.

  16. Coat inside of pond with liquid pond sealer.

  17. Install pavers.
