It doesn't matter where you build this patio or what weather conditions your location experiences. With the built-in fireplace and permanent pavers, this elegant and powerful design can be enjoyed for many years to come.
Building The Patio...
1. Establish layout and prep ground for concrete slab.
2. Dig footings.
3. Install forms. (Note where footings are located so you can accurately install the post anchors.)
4. Place and tamp concrete. Install post anchors.
5. Finish concrete.
6. Once concrete has cured, remove forms.
7. Install posts.
8. Bolt a 2x12 rafter to both sides at the top of each post.
9. Install 2x2's on top of the rafters.
NOTE: The dimensions for the wall you build for the fireplace will depend on the size of the fireplace insert. The dimensions shown on the plans should only be used as a general guide.
10. Build framework to accommodate fireplace insert and then install fireplace insert according to manufacturer's instructions and specifications.
11. Once fireplace insert is operational, cover the entire framework with cement board.
12. Cover cement board with brick or stone veneer.
13. Place and install countertops on each side (wing) of fireplace.
